There’s a plugin called “Unattach” that will do the job.

( If you click “Allow an image to be attached more than once” you can at least get the new version showing as well as the old ).

    Thanks Josie.

I didn’t describe my issue very well. It wasn’t the image I wanted to update, it was just the extra image data that I was trying to update.

In trying to understand how to use Unattach I discovered (don’t ask) that all I had to do was to select the image in the media library and then click on ‘edit more details’. That allowed me to change the Title, Caption or Description as desired.

    Thanks again.

Just a word of warning: once you have used the gallery editor in that way, it fixes the list of images, and any more images attached using entrywizard will not show up.

If that happens, you can used the “text” tab to edit the shortcode.
To show ALL attached images it needs to be just [gallery] or perhaps [gallery columns="4"]. The gallery editor adds the full list of ids of the images. Remove them, and all images attached to the page will show again.
