Attach an image, but not embed in post

    I want to attach an image to my post, but I don’t want it to actually show up in the post. Basically, I want the image there so when I post the link on other sites, there is an image attached, but I don’t want it embedded into the actual blog post. Is there a way to do this?

    If you only Set Featured Image on your post, does it work the way you have in mind?
