Hi and thank you for making this amazing TOC plugin.
I have added your plugin to my site and at the end of each TOC at my posts, I saw a non-existent link/section called “JOIN OUR NEWSLETTER” in the TOC. However; that link/section or heading does not exist in my posts and/or my site.

Yes, I am using a newsletter plugin MailPoet and at the end of each post I have a newsletter subscribe section but it is not called “JOIN OUR NEWSLETTER”. Even if I deactivate this MailPoet newsletter plugin that link at TOC is still shown.

I am using the Oceanwp theme. I don’t know if it is related to theme or something but this is very strange and I don’t know how to get rid of this non-exist link/section from my Joli TOC.

When I install another TOC plugin (easy table of contents) that link “JOIN OUR NEWSLETTER” link does not appear in the TOC however; I wanted to use your plugin because of the amazing customization features of your plugin.

I didn’t understand how such a non-existent link/section could appear at the TOC. Here is a link to a post on my site below. You can also check any post on my website.

And when you click that “JOIN OUR NEWSLETTER”, you are not leading to any section in the post. I hope you have a solution for this.

    Thanks in Advance.

    UPDATE:

I have found the problem. Your plugin takes the “Exit/Intent Pop Up Newsletter Form” of MailPoet as a link/section and adds it to the Table of Contents.

This may be a problem for all websites that have an Exit/Intent Pop-Up Newsletter Sign-Up form and also use your plugin.

You may want to check this at a staging site by adding a MailPoet Pop Up Newsletter Form or anyother Pop Up form to your stating environment and see by your self if your TOC plugin adds additional link/section at the end of the TOC in a post.

If you have any solution for this glitch please let me know because I would like to use Mailpoet Pop Up exit/intent subscription form and your plugin at the same time.

    Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. Let me try to reply your concerns.

First of all, unlike other TOCs, Joli TOC picks up on all headings present in the content (including those who are generated by third party plugins and that do not necessarily show while editing a post). So this is not technically a glitch, but more of a feature that covers all of the headings present on the page.

From there, Joli TOC gives you an option to skip headings to remove any unwanted heading from being processed. You can skip them by text or by class (under the HEADINGS tab from the settings).

If this is not enough, you can use the built in joli_toc_headings filter to programmatically remove unwanted headings.

You can have a look at this documentation here.

Let me know if this worked !

    Cheers!

Hi and thank you for your valuable reply. I have removed the Pop-Up Newsletter to prevent this conflict. If I want to re-add the Pop-Up newsletter form, I will definitely use your solution.
Again; thank you for your valuable reply.
