Yes I’ve seen it. As far as I can see it, this happens only for public calendars using the API key and not for private calendars using access token. I don’t know why this is happening now, because nothing has changed in the plugin. I think something at Google has changed but I have to look into this.

A quick solution is to add these public calendars to your Google account and then setting up the plugin for private calendars (https://blog.michielvaneerd.nl/private-google-calendars/#Setup_for_private_calendars).

If I have time I’ll look why this is happening.

It looks like Google has changed the rules – see:

https://developers.google.com/calendar/auth

“Your application must use OAuth 2.0 to authorize requests. No other authorization protocols are supported.”

This means that the API key is not supported anymore. You first have to add the public calendars you want to display to your Google account and then setup the plugin for private calendars (https://blog.michielvaneerd.nl/private-google-calendars/#Setup_for_private_calendars).

Maybe this is a temporary issue, but either way I think the above solution is preferred.

Thank you @michielve for your rapid response! Using the private calendar setup for a public calendar and replacing the block in wordpress worked.

Hi @isoliberation and @gielvandam it seems the public setup works again as well. So this must have been some issue on Google’s side. But Google doesn’t officially support the API key as you can read in their documentation, so the private setup is still preferred.

Thanks! The follow up of my question was quick. Even better that google repeared it them selves so you and we can do thomething but not necessary.
