• Hello,

    I’m not sure if this is a good spot to post but I’m completely flustered and can’t figure this out – and it should be easy – which is were the fluster comes from! lol

    I ceate an image in Photoshop 5 and that image is 960×330. Then I input that image into my Slider – which is set at 960x330px – and about 10% of the image, on all sides, are missing – as if the image were to big for that spot. Even though both have the exact same measurements.

    So I went back to Photoshop and made the image, what I thought was smaller, but when I saved it, it showed as 1800x1200px.

    But, when I inserted this much larger image into my slider it displayed the whole image and looked to be about 300px by 100px – there was tons of space to spare around the image.

    Then I created another one – 600x200px – and that image displays exactly the same as the one that 1800x1200px.

    So how the heck can I determine that correcgt image size needed? The slider config says the spot is 960px by 350px but when I go into Photoshop and create an image that exact size it’s too big. I create one a little smaller and it displays a lot smaller.

    The settings, when I do “save for web and devices” are set correctly.

    Adobe says this is a function of WordPress since when I view the images in a viewer thye all appear fine.

    This has been going on, with me, for a while and I’ve usually just muddled through but I’d love some help, direction, pointers – anything! lol

    Thank you for your time!!!
    Rob

  • what slider and what theme are you using?

    can you provide a live link to your site to illustrate the issue?

    Hello Alcy,

    Revolution slider….but it happens many times using many different image placement techniques on many different themes…

    Right now i’m using the Revolution slider….set at 960×350 and the image that is currently showing is set at 950×340 and about 1″, all around the image, is missing – for instance, where you see the lightbulb you should see the whole lightbulb with almost 1″ margin to spare.

    Thanks!

    And, if you like, I can change that image, and put in the LARGE image – 1800×1400 and you’ll see it only takes up about 30% of the allotted image space.

    the script of the slider (?) seems to be inserting some inline styles which actually try to stretch the image to 1120px;

    from the html as inspected by Firefox’ web develper add-on:

    <div class="slotholder"><img data-web-developer-element-ancestors-outline="true" style="width: 1120px; height: 350px; opacity: 1; outline: 1px solid rgb(185, 74, 72);" class="defaultimg" src="https://technologysolutionslive.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Top_slide_1.png" alt="Top_slide_1"></div>

    please ask the developer of the plugin and possibly your theme’s developer for help with the issue;
