    Hi,

Does the plugin conflict with the Astra WP theme?

The reason I ask is, I’ve created a test event and on the events homepage the entry is squashed in the page. A single entry is fine, but the ‘all events’ page seems broken

I’ve deactivated all my existing plugins and there isn’t a conflict there. I’ve also tried all the event templates but still no fix.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  • Hello @stedavies,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

I suspect it could be caching-related. So if that’s the case, we strongly recommend excluding our CSS and JS files from your caching plugin. That should fix it permanently.?Refer to – The Calendar Doesn’t Look Right. Here’s also a list of some popular plugins and how to exclude our ssets there – https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/guide/caching-with-the-events-calendar/#caching-plugins.

If that isn’t the case, could you share your calendar URL for us to check?

I hope that helps. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi,

Thanks for the response. I think I’ve figured out what it is.

In the Astra theme, the plugin assumes the settings of Astra’s blog archives. So, for example, if the theme’s blog archive settings are set up a specific way the event calendar mirrors those settings.

I can get the calendar to look 90% correct but those settings make the blog archives look bad.

It would be better if you could change the individual settings of the blog archives in Astra but you currently can’t. Every archive category looks the same.

The ‘Month’ and ‘Day’ apparently work fine but the ‘List’ setting doesn’t.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Please see the events page on this staging site:

    Hi there,

Testing your staging site, I can see that the Astra theme is injecting a CSS class ast-width-md-4 into the <article> tag where the events are being listed, forcing that item to have 33% width only.

As that’s something being injected by your theme directly, the best move here will be contacting their support team and check with them the best way to deactivate the function that is injecting the CSS.

Meanwhile, you can add the following CSS snippet at wp-admin > Appearance > Customizer > Additional CSS section:
    .tribe-events .ast-width-md-4 {width: 100%;}

For a definitive solution, please contact the theme providers.

I am having exactly the same issues. Surely for such a popular plugin this should be resolved by Astra.

    Hi,

Thanks. It seems Astra’s solution is not good if you don’t want to change your default article archive template.

They’ve suggested you have to change the archive of your blog to accommodate the archive of your events. I’d prefer not to as my blog archive is set up how I need it.

    I’ll try asking them too.
