Associated page setting not saving

I’ve installed MSLS and the two sites are connected fine. However, when I select the Associated page in the top left corner of the edit page screen and press save, the field is cleared. It doesn’t appear to save my selection, and the switcher continues to just simply link to the front page of the associated site.
I’ve deactivated all other plugins and and activated the twentyseventeen theme. Problem persists.
