Associate Brands with CPT

Hi, I’m trying to get the Brands associated with a CPT. I’ve tried to add the following line of code to the functions.php file but it didn’t work:

register_taxonomy_for_object_type( ‘pwb-brand’, ‘cpt_slug’ );

If I add that line, I don’t see the metabox for Brands in the CPT edit screen.
