• I am setting up a membership only portion of my website. Only the members can see the files that are uploaded and they can also upload files (admin has to approve the files before they are uploaded). I have tried various plugins but none seem to give exact directions on how to configure it so it actually works.

I am having issues with the file upload form appearing on the page I assigned it to. Can you tell me where I can find directions on exactly how to add this feature to my site?

Hi, how do you try to install the plugin in the page? Here is a guide:

I used this to set it up but it doesnt allow me to add subfolders. I can only select one when I need multiple. How do I do that? After the subfolders are created, where do the files go? If they go to Media, how do i give my users only access to the actual files and not the photos/videos?

You can use the visual editor (https://www.iptanus.com/how-to-use-the-visual-editor-of-wordpress-file-upload-plugin/) to configure the plugin. There you can configure subfolder.

Please note that files are uploaded to the folder defined by uploadpath attribute of the shortcode. If you set subfolders, then they will go inside the selected subfolder, relative to uploadpath.

Files will not be added to Media by default. You need to configure the plugin to do so (there is an option for this). However, if you set it, then subfolders have no meaning because files will be saved to the default upload path of WordPress, together with the other photos/videos.

The Professional version of the plugin has file viewers, from where you can show the files. It has a Dashboard file viewer, from where the logged users can view their files (only their files, regardless of the upload folder). They can also delete or download them. It also has a front-end file viewer, which you can add in any page or post.
