Assigning Home Page with Read More Posts

I am trying to figure out how to assign a Home page that contains the “Read More” snapshots of my posts. I especially am trying to figure out how it would work with the UBB Plugin. In the dashboard it tells me I have to assign a “Page” as a home page, so if I make a page and call it Home, I end up with 2 home page links on my menu bar. Are there some instructions I could follow to do this?
