    Hi Tobias

I am building a vacation rental website. For availability calendars I am using https://www.wpsimplebookingcalendar.com/
I create a calendar and assign it to a user (role: subscriber) so when they log in they can update the calendar.

I wish to use TablePress for price tables. Can I create a table and assign it to a user (role: subscriber) so when they log in they can update the table

    Thanks – Brian

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

No, sorry, that’s not directly possible like that. TablePress does use WordPress user roles for access control, but doesn’t have a way to directly assign tables to individual users yet.

Something like this will however be available shortly (as in “a few weeks”) as part of a premium version of TablePress 2.0 (see https://tablepress.org/8-million-downloads-tablepress-2-0/ for an early announcement).

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias

Great to see Table Press 2.0 Premium is now available

I think I’ll go with the Max plan

I’ve added a price table to a page but when I add it to the sidebar widget (where I want it to display) I only see the code and not the table

I want users (holiday home owners) to be able to update their own prices

    Hi,

yes, the Premium versions are now available, and the TablePress Max plan does indeed include the “Advanced Access Rights” management that should help you here.

As for the Shortcode in that sidebar widget: How and where are these sidebar widgets created? Can you maybe take a screenshot of that (you can create one by pressing “Print” on the keyboard on Windows, or Cmd+Shift+3 on a Mac, and then upload it to a service like?https://imgur.com/)?and post the link here?

It looks like these sections don’t evaluate Shortcodes by default. There’s nothing really that TablePress can do about this, but maybe we can find a way with a bit of custom code. Otherwise, you’d have to ask the theme developers to support Shortcodes in that sidebar.

    Tobias

    Hi,

thanks a lot. Ok, this seems to be a rather custom feature by that theme then. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with that theme, so you would indeed need to contact its developer and ask them to support Shortcodes in for the content in these fields. In principle, they should just need a do_shortcode() PHP function call in the right place, so this should not be difficult for them.

    Hello Tobias

George from Pixelgrade, the developer of the Listable theme, got back to me re using table press shortcode in sidebar.

    Hello, Brian!

The “Hours” section is a feature provided by the WP Job Manager plugin and it is possible that it’s not rendering shortcodes but only outputs the raw field content. I don’t want to redirect you to them, but instead, I suggest you to install the shortcode-widget plugin mentioned earlier, insert the shortcode and see if it renders the shortcode.

I understand what you need, but although we can occasionally help you with CSS snippets for different style changes, changing the output of the “Hours” field requires custom development work which is outside our support scope.

However, if you need this option for your website, we have a good partnership with?Codeable.io, whom we recommend for customizing our themes.

    Hope it helps,
    George

Below is my message to Pixelgrade

I want the price table to appear in the sidebar when I put in shortcode TablePress shortcode [table id=1 /]

But it does not render the table

When I put shortcode in main body it does appear

    Hi @drumlerry,

    thanks for the update!

I would recommend that you try that suggestion with the shortcode-widget plugin, and otherwise get in touch with the mentioned “WP Job Manager” team, and ask them to support Shortcodes in that area.

    Best wishes,
