    Hi there,

I have desperately searched for a possibility to assign a default category to each user. I manage a site with several members who can enter their events. On their sub pages, I entered a shortcode so that the events of their category appear. They frequently forget to set the category and are wondering why the event does not appear on their sub page. It would be so much easier if User A could publish events by default in Category A, without setting the mark. For posts, I have “Restrict Author Posting” installed, but this does not work for ECevents. Is there any possibility to have this feature?

    Thanks a lot in advance,
    kind regards
    Kath

    Hi Kath!

It sounds like you’re looking to change the way events are created/published, which would be something you could try suggesting or asking about to the creators of The Events Calendar directly?

    Hi Brian,

thanks for your answer! I have to admit I didn’t notice I posted at the wrong plugin. (Shame on me, I guess I’m a little stressed out, it’s like hearding cats at the moment with the members because of this problem…) I will copy my question to the Events Calendar support forum.

But when I’m already here, let me thank you for your great plugin, Brian, the shortcodes make my life a lot easier!

    Best regards, Katharina

Glad to hear ?? If you like the shortcodes would love if you could leave a review, would be greatly appreciated (assuming you have time with the hearding of the cats!)

    Cheers,
    Brian
