I have the plugin installed with it’s CPT deactivated. I have another portfolio post type with a custom post archive. In this archive, there is no instance of any VP blocks in there. Checking the network tab, I see all the VP assets (css, js files) being loaded, though. Some single portfolio posts do include a VP slider but not in the archive. I have been banging my head trying to see where these assets are coming from. Other pages where no VP block exists do not load the assets. It’s just this particular custom port type archive that I have created and is not related with the plugin. Am I missing something?

    Hi George,

Can you provide a step-by-step reproduction guide? I want to reproduce this issue locally to check for possible fixes.

It is better to use a Twenty Twenty theme and install a single plugin that you used to enable CPT.

Yeah, there seem to be an issue here. The Twenty Twenty theme doesn’t have the capability to display the custom portfolio archive I have created as a separate layout (eg: grid). It displays the individual portfolio items in the archive. So, any sliders or plugin blocks I am using, they are all displayed in the archive. As a result, the assets load in the archive as well. I use the GeneratePress theme, which has the capability of displaying CPT archives in various layouts. In it’s basic form, the theme just displays a list of single portfolio items one below the other. In that case, even though there are no visual portfolio items loaded in the archive (at least visually), the plugin seems to think that there are items there, thus loading the assets.

Maybe try installing the GeneratePress theme and have a look. Pretty sure a lot of other themes have some kind of functionality to display CPT archives in various layout.

I use the ACF plugin to create custom post type but I don’t think that makes any difference.

I hope I am clear enough.

    Hi George,

Thank you for the info. As we focus on block themes, we will not try to fix this issue because it is a rare problem with classic themes. Our code contains a lot of workaround hacks for such Classic themes, and changing this behavior will break other functionality.

    Regards,
    Nikita.
