• I try to fix a specific aspect ration – not a common one.
    As a reference I have 1600*1395 – this gives a aspect ration of 320 : 279

Since the interface and the documentation states no units for the values of the fields “width” and “height” after choosing crop type = aspect ratio, I tried:

    1600/1395 and 320/279 (width/height)

None works – I get a square rect for the crop window.
How do I get the aspect ration of 320 : 279?

    Hey,

Are you sure the window size is not correct? 1600/1395 equals to 1.14695340502 which is almost a square aspect ratio.

If 1600/1395 is a pixel size instead of aspect ratio, you can choose the pixel size option which will make sure the resulting image is always scaled to 1600×1395 pixels.

    yes – that’s what the designer defined…
Still wondering what values should be entered – let’s use 1600 by 1400px (8:7).
    Should I enter width:1600 and height:1400 or width:8 and height:7?
Or will both work as the aspect ratio is the same and no absolute picture size will be forced when uploading an image?
    Thanks!

Entering the size 1600×1400 and 8×7 will result in exactly the same behaviour when cropping the image. I doesn’t matter which one you use.

I hope this clears up things for you.
