Akismet confusion .com vs .org

I am using WordPress.org… I got the akismet plugin right away during set-up, activated it, and it was great till yesterday. Now it is as if it never worked at all. When I went to go check the settings it asked for an API key and when I went to get a new one, it automatically sent me to WordPress.COM not .org. THAT is an akismet glitch as I was clearly in the .org dashboard. Please fix right away. My page has been bombarded with over 75 spam in just 12 hours… and more are coming in.
