    Hello there
First of all I would like to thank you for the amazing plugin you developed to help wp users managing the media library. I was studying it in the last few days and it really seems a must use!

I found the plugin while searching a solution for a strange issue I have. I found out the 2500 out of 3000 images on our website does not have a parent post that they should be attached to. For example all of our products have the right image in the product editor and front end, but those images appear in media library without parent product post.. So do all the pages and articles images.
The 500 that do have parents, most of them show wrong parent product or post. While in the post/product individual screen, its all good.
No idea when this happened, but I do want to fix it.. Can it be achieved with the plugin? I installed ifixit example plugin but non of the tools there seem to accomplish that.
In short, how do I attach parent posts to its images automaticly?
    Thank you!

Thanks for the positive feedback on the plugin and for your question. Thanks as well for taking the time to find and try the “MLA Insert Fixit” example plugin; I assume that’s the “ifixit example plugin” you mentioned.

The MLA Insert Fixit “Attach Media Library items” tools work by parsing the post/page content looking for patterns that identify image inserts, etc. Their success depends entirely on how the items are added to their “parent”. For example, you mentioned “products”. This could be a custom post type and/or the items might be in a product gallery or some other place the tool is not expecting. You can set the “Post Type(s)” at the top of the page, but if the items are in an unexpected place it won’t help.

To give you more specific help I need to know exactly how the items are added to the post, page, article and product. Posting the complete source text (using the Code Editor) of one or more parents would help.

I will leave this topic unresolved until I learn more. Thanks for any additional information you can share and for your interest in the plugin.

    hello David,
MLA Insert Fixit indeed is what i mean.

    Thank you

Thanks for your update with the additional information.

There is another MLA example plugin, “WooCommerce Fixit”, that has several tools for cleaning up Media Library items used in WooCommerce Product Image/Product Gallery inserts. The current version does not have any tools to add or repair item/parent assignments, but it might be feasible to add such tools to the example plugin.

Would attaching the items that appear in the Product Gallery or Product Image satisfy your needs? If so, I can investigate further. If the items are used in some other way, give me more details or specific examples so I can reproduce your issue and see what’s possible. Thanks for whatever else you can add.

It has been over two months since my last post in this topic. I assume you have found a suitable solution for the attachment task you outlined.

I am marking the topic resolved, but please update it if you have problems or further questions regarding the solutions I suggested or the possible WooCommerce Fixit enhancements.
