It is also not scaled properly. Looks very disproportionate versus the rest of the site.

Hi! Thank you for your response. I actually ended up installing the WP Mobile plugin and cleaned it up. I don’t find the Ashe theme very good on mobile. I do have one more question about the mobile experience. My blog seems quite slow on mobile. Do you have any ideas why? It is way faster on my desktop and I am using the same WIFI for mobile and desktop. I had my husband test it and he said the mobile experience seems awfully slow. I also made it live in case you wanted to see.

    Hi @rizekna

Weird, we checked your website with the best speed checker, google page speed insights and here are the scores we get, please see the screenshots: https://nimb.ws/5dWRwN https://nimb.ws/iPc6Gw

    Hello Support,

Per your message above, the speed times you are checking were for my “coming soon” page. I activated my site yesterday and the Google display score I get is 48 on mobile and 61 on desktop. This is not good. It is so slow! How can I improve this?? I am leaving my site active for your follow up and help.

    Thanks!

    Hi @rizekna

Actually, site speed depends on many things, server firstly, content(images, custom scripts, texts), 3rd party plugins and etc.

We checked your website again, and here is the response from the google speed insights, we will share the link and also screenshots:

I will redirect this email to the developer’s board and they will take another look at the issue you have.

    Hi,

Nick is here from the DEV team, @wprsupport is absolutely right here, some of your plugins causing this speed related issue and you need to disable them or you need to install cache-related plugins which will have the options to compress or merge CSS js files and all be fine then, also you have image related issue, please check this image

You need to fix it and follow google recommendations.

    Hello,

What plugins are causing speed issues? I have a basic site and I deleted any plugins I don’t use. If I am running into these issues then what do more complex sites use?

As for cache-related plugins, I am using WP Super Cache. Is there a better one I should use? Also, how do I fix that image? You have to remember that not everyone is a super user and a little more detail would be greatly appreciated. If the site is slow on mobile then that is a major issue and I really need it corrected. My desktop version seems much better now so I want to focus on mobile with mobile. Is there a plugin to help right-size images? Is there one for merging CSS JS files?

    I appreciate your help.

Nevermind. I figured it out. I just got an A score with GTmetrix and an 88 score with Google Insights (73 for mobile)! I did some research and found an article that was tremendously helpful! Thanks!
