    Hi,

    If you look at my site, yogalabpdx.com you’ll see that some small squares show up show up under the menu bar. They push the widget box down. Single squares also appear between blog posts and seemingly inside them.

    When showing any of the other pages (about, contact, etc.) these extra squares don’t appear.

    I’d like them not to appear on the home page either…

    Thank you!

    Thanks. I’ll dig into that.

    Initially, I just chose the theme from with the comfort of the WordPress interface. I did install a couple others before deciding on Parament.

    Hopefully the fresh install will fix the problem!

    I hope so too! Let me know how it goes.

    Argh. I renamed the existing parament folder as parament_old. Uploaded the zip via the link you sent me. Installed fine.

    Seeing two paraments, I deleted “parement_old” and then just one showed up among available themes. I activated it: same thing, artifact problem as before. Shows up in the child theme too, perhaps needless to say.

    Other ideas?

    I’m seeing many mismatched HTML tags – you can see them if you view your browser source in Firefox (they are red) or run your site through an HTML validator. These problems don’t exist on the demo sites or my test site.

    Here are some things you can still try, to see if you can narrow down the culprit inserting the stray code tags that are causing the artifacts.

    – deactivate all plugins. I know you mentioned that you tried this before, but I’d love to take a peek at your site with plugins off,if possible.

    – unpublish the current post and publish a different one, without the video embed. Just put in a paragraph of regular text.

    – unpublish the current widget – drag it to Inactive Widgets to save it for later. Add a default widget like Search.

    I’ve spotted a problem that may be related – could you try this before doing any of the other things I suggested above.

    In your post with the Vimeo player “New Poses from the Flight Deck” you have an unclosed code tag. Here’s what I see in the browser source:

    <div class="entry-content">
    <p><code><iframe src="//player.vimeo.com/video/104833647" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe> </p>
    </div>

    In your post editor, flip to Text/HTML view and remove this bit:

    <code>

    Save the post when you’re done.

    Let me know how it goes.

    Yup, I think my last suggestion will solve it. I posted your unclosed-tag code in my test site and got the same artifacts:

    Parament 1 3 by Automattic tagline 2

    Oh, such a newbie mistake. I assumed the editor put in a close tag. Sorry for all the hassle, Kathryn. Thanks for saving me from myself…

    You’re welcome, I’m glad we finally figured it out!
