Articles Plugin by Alex now showing in my theme?

I have the ‘Articles plug-in’ by Alex but the post are not showing on the main page in the sidebar where I put this code:

<php aka_show_articles(); ?>
</div>

Actually, nothings happen. Like this line would have no effect on the theme. I have fielded my current posts with: key = article, and value 1 in the custom fields section. I also tried to add this in the post text ###articles### and it has worked but I need to put this to work in the theme.

What I would like is for the posts to show in my sidebar theme, NOT as a widget. I want to be able to place them in a specific place above the widget section.
