I have an issue with the latest version of Organize Series (2.4.3) and WordPress 3.5.

Everytime I add a new post to one of my article series the number of the post in the series changes. If I have 15 posts in my series and add a new post (or schedule one) the other posts are set to -1, eg. post 15 becomes 14, 14 becomes 13 and so forth.

It might also occur when I edit a post earlier in the series.

  • Thanks for reporting this egar. I haven’t been able to reproduce this but we are looking into it.

It sounds like you were an existing user of Organize Series before upgrading to WordPress 3.5. Were there any other changes (i.e. plugins/themes) made at the same time you did the upgrade to 3.5?

    Hi,

I haven’t had any other issues before updating to WP 3.5. I haven’t changed my set of plugins in a few months, but I know there’s an issue with another plugin though. But I’ve deactivated that one.

After I posted this here I noticed that there’s an issue within core WP that deletes all embeds for scheduled posts. I also believe that it deletes the author of the post so that the author is blank.

I didn’t notice if the issue with Organize Series was happening with scheduled posts since I noticed it when I published a post directly. Perhaps that’s a lead?

Can you clarify if this is publishing a post in a series with unpublished posts or publishing a post in a series with scheduled posts, or scheduling a post under the same two criteria.

Basically, I need the exact steps you follow to reproduce this. The steps I’m doing:

    1. An existing series, “Test Series A” with two posts marked part one and two, both published.
    2. I create a new post and don’t assign it any part but assign it to “Test Series A”, and I publish it.
    3. After publishing, the new post is Part three. The other two posts retain their parts.

Marking this as resolved because we haven’t heard back any more information.
