Hello, I am currently building a new store with Woocommerce and Germanized. The following problem with the article numbers has arisen:
I have variable products with 4 colors. I’m creating a 1st variable product with a new article number I have chosen. Then I duplicated this product and edited the 2nd duplicated product. Unfortunately, it seems that the article number cannot be changed from the 2nd product and is simply renamed xxxx-1 from the duplicated product. (alos a 1 afterwards for the duplicate)
Even if I try to delete the item number, it does not work. I cannot delete the article number of the 1st product either. Otherwise, I can change everything afterwards, i.e. colors, size etc. everything can be changed except the item number. What is the reason for this? The article number of simple products cannot be deleted.
I have no caching plugins, nothing in the recycle bin and the permalinks have been resaved several times. I also click on update, but the article number remains the same. What can I do to either delete or change the article numbers? Both would help me.

    Hello there,
if my Item Number you mean the SKU, I just tested this trying to change the SKU of a duplicated product, and I can do that with no issues.

This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Kind regards,
