  • Try disabling the captcha. I had the same thing, even with the really simple captcha that is supposed to be standard for this form!
You have probably noticed that the email is being sent.

But the submitter does not get confirmation it is sent.

Hope this helps (although disabling captcha is not what we would like to do)

Winnesoup, Contact Form 7 doesn’t have a captcha that I can see. Am I missing something?

In fact, I tried the Contact Form in Jetpack, as well as Fast Simple Contact Form plugin. Not one of them seems to work. Any suggestions?

The spinning arrow is a common symptom of a Javascript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins you are using – see Contact Form 7 Email Issues – there is a link there that covers Javascript Conflicts.

I had the same issue and frankly I felt I didn’t need those arrows at all…
I found a solution that works by preventing them to show up -> https://www.taqin.net/contact-form-7-file-upload-not-working/

And now I am arrow free! ??

Im seeing this too with the latest CF7 on my site here: https://blackhillshabitat.org/contact/

I had this issue before on another website and wrote about it here:https://tech4eleven.com/3257/contact-form-7-spins. Then it was an issue with my theme’s jQuery version. but I don’t think thats the issue here.

Im on WP3.7.1. I get the email when I send it from the contact form but the arrows spin and spin and I don’t see the status message. I disabled all my plugins but that didn’t change it at all. I renamed CF7’s “js” folder so it wouldn’t called the built in scripts but that didn’t help. I can’t find where my theme is calling jquery itself.

If anyone can help, please do. You can test the form if you want – the emails are being routed to me for now. thanks!

@iaggelidaki – The link you’ve followed shows a very poor solution that you and others should not be following.

All it does is disable ALL Javascript within Contact Form 7. It’s not a solution – it justs hide the symptom.

The author of the link admits this:
What this fix does is to disable anyform of AJAX on the form. While AJAX might be a good feature, troubleshooting something so complex (it is for me at least) seems more like a waste of time for a simple form.

The solution you have used means you also miss out on all the other useful Javascript within Contact Form 7. The solution is totally cosmetic – you might as well let the arrow spin.

If you really want to fix the problem you have to deal with the real issues which is almost certainly a Javascript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins.

@tech4eleven – As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

Posting in an existing topic prevents being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

@buzztone Yes yes you are right, I totally understand!

Well my issue had another side as well, you see in my theme (LESS by Jared Erickson) icons appear huge! No kidding… So those arrows caught up half of my computer screen. That is why removing them made me so happy, because in my case they weren’t cosmetic at all…

I ‘ll keep it this way at least until I find out how I can fix that icon size thing…

Guys, for a novice, I find the Contact Form plugin options to be not very robust. I am using WordPress’s 2012 theme and the latest release of WordPress and all plugins. I have tried

    1) Contact Form 7 (editing plugin to stop spinning arrow per https://www.taqin.net/contact-form-7-file-upload-not-working/) but email didn’t come through after arrows disappeared
    2) Fast Simple Contact Form – this one does work either even though I tried most of the options listed on https://www.fastsecurecontactform.com/email-does-not-send
including installing the WP Mail SMTP plugin
    3) Jetpack contact form option and specified the email address on my domain name.

The only thing that worked is the test email option on Fast Secure Contact Form, but none of the email submissions are working across three plugins. Any suggestions? FYI, the test email comes through as:

Fast Secure Contact Form [email protected] via server414.webhostingpad.com

This is a test email generated by the Fast Secure Contact Form
    WordPress plugin.

Sorry, I misses the address on which the contact form is posted:

@omhasan98 – The fact you are you having issues sending emails from 3 very popular plugins indicates there is an issue with your WordPress hosting. You should work with your Hosting provider to investigate your particular issue or consider switching to a more suitable WordPress host.

Call it a theme issue or a theme AND Cf7 issue but rolling BACK to version 3.5.4 of Contact Form 7 worked for me. No more spinning arrows. User gets confirmation that email is sent.
