• Hello!

I use the Pictorio theme (version 1.08) for a website of friends of mine. I managed to make the feature slider, but there’s a problem with the arrows I can’t fix…

Next to a small (I think default error) the text “Next” won’t go away and the real arrow (the one from Genreicons) isn’t showing up… If I delete the text with Chromes “inspect” function, the arrow shows up – so it’s probably not a fault with the Genreicons-font.

The previous arrow furthermore doesn’t show up at all… I really have no idea what went wrong…

I’m glad for every idea and thank you all a lot in advance!

Hi there – I wasn’t able to see this problem on a test site running Pictorico.

The slider you’ve added looks like it’s coming from a plugin, not using the Featured Content slider built into Pictorico.

I’d suggest contacting the plugin developer through their forum to see if they can help you find the source of the problem.

Or, you can try using the built-in slider by deactivating the plugin, and tagging the posts you want with a tag of your choice, and then adding the tag in the Customizer’s Featured Content section.

I also noticed that it looks like you’ve made edits directly to the theme files, such as adding a logo file at the top left.

Please be careful to make a backup of your files when you update the theme, as all your changes will be overwritten on every update. The best way to make changes to a theme is to use a child theme, so your tweaks won’t be overwritten when updating the theme. I’d recommend you move all your changes into a child theme and upload a fresh copy of Pictorico to avoid this problem. Here are some guides in case you haven’t made one before:

If you are already using Pictorico’s built in slider, I’d strongly suggest you deactivate your slider plugin. That may resolve the arrow issue on its own – the two may be conflicting.
