By now I’ve managed to make it work editing the css. I’ve tried only on one screen though, so not still sure. This is the css you have to use:

}

My plan was putting the image on the top of the title then followed by the excerpt.

Ah ok… you could try lo leave it like that an giving the image a width of 100% so as to take the whole line

I wanted to change the code. I think the developer can tell where/what file to edit instead using CSS.

Yes yes of course! I just found a solution hand-made because I needed to set it up, at least roughly, today.
I’m also waiting and hoping for a complete solution by the developer

For now I use JQuery instead of modifying the code of the plugin.

The way to do that would be using a template. Check the example template on templates/default.php as a reference.

I just did it right now before finding this post.

You have to create your own template based on the default one, and put the line
$lcp_display_output .= $this->get_thumbnail($single);
above
$lcp_display_output .= $this->get_post_title($single);
