Area behind fixed background image briefly visible when scrolling over it on mob

  • Hi, I wonder if anyone could help me. I have been scratching my head and trying to work out the cause of my issue and how to resolve it.

    What basically the issue is, is that on mobile devices only, when scrolling over a background (fixed) image (size cover) with text on top, very briefly, the area behind the image shows up slightly and the text scrolls over that area (outside of the image itself). See short recording below:

    As you can see, no default background colour has been set so you can see a white stripe at the bottom of the image and the text scrolling over it.

    When I change fixed to scroll the issue goes away. But I really want to have fixed parallex visual if I can.

    I have tried reducing the image size, drastically even, but this does not resolve it.

    I have tested on various different pages (to rule out code corruption), various different section and layout blocks. For example Kadence, Ultimate addons for Gutenberg, Grids layout builder to name a few. Issue exists on all of them.

    Tested various different padding and margin configurations, positive and negative values

    No issues at all on desktop machine
    Issue reproduced on 2 Huawei android devices
    Issue mostly appears on Chrome mobile browser and Dev version
    Occasionally, issue appears on Firefox mobile browser
    Issue never appears on Opera mobile browser

    My theme is Astra free. I have access to a Genesis sample theme to test on if needs be but my gut feeling is that the issue is not theme specific.

    I have trawled through Google for this issue but an explanation and solution remains elusive.

    Issue difficult to troubleshoot since it occurs on mobile device so no monitoring tool I am aware of that I can run.

    Does anyone know the reason why this is happening and can suggest a fix or something to try?

    PS. When I include just a short paragraph of text on top of the image the issue does not happen. It occurs when more text is added (not a huge amount)

    pps. the issue occurs when scrolling slowly over the image as well as quickly.
