Are there anti-spam tools?

    I have used this plugin for several years, and it has worked great. In the last month or so, I’ve started receiving quite a bit of bot spam as new testimonials. It’s more annoying than anything else since I obviously don’t publish these items. However, I hate to think that I have any plugin that is allowing spammers and hackers to write comments on my Website. Not good.

    I use two anti-spam tools, Akismet Antispam and Antispam Bee, but I can’t find any flags to check to include your Strong Testimonials plugin.

    Thoughts?

    I appreciate your taking the time to respond. I’m disappointed that I would have to pay $49/year for the level of software supporting this feature. I’m a church musician at a job and piano teacher and get lucky with a few performance gigs here and there.

    None of these gigs allow me to spend ad libitum on my Website for premium plugin features every time developers don’t want to include basic features to keep their users safe. Thanks for the response, even though I may no longer be using your software.

    I’m having the same problem, receiving 100s of spam reviews in a very short space of time. The plugin was great but without basic integration with reCAPTCHA (like many other free plugins e.g. Contact form 7) it has now become unusable.

    Hi @andtay2001,

    I chose to use a workaround to the problem of the plugin not offering free reCAPTCHA. I created my own input form using Ninja forms that mimics the one offered by Strong Testimonials. It took a trivial amount of time to do that, and it eliminated the spam instantly.

    Of course, that means manually having to copy and paste data from whoever submits their review. However, I often have to edit both the reviews and photos submitted anyway, of course, with the permission of the reviewer.
