• On a fresh installation of Ultimate Member, all settings as default, new profile forms show up to logged-in members with fields missing and with no ability to edit.

This is testing with predefined fields “First Name” “Last Name” “Email” and “Biography” and then a custom field “file upload”.

In the form preview all fields show up nicely, and as editable.

In the logged-in member’s view, only First Name, Last Name, and Email fields display, not as editable, and Biography and file upload don’t show up at all.

My intent is for registered users to be able to edit a subset of profile fields.

Is there something that I am missing? THanks for any help.

Update: It appears that Ultimate Member default use of a “Profile Form” is to display information rather than allow the user to use a from to edit it. This seems odd since the other forms present for edit and the preview implies editable fields.

My goal is to present custom forms for the end user member to edit a subset of his or her profile fields.

I’ll post in a separate message what I’m looking to achieve and see if it’s within the scope of Ultimate Member.

I left you the answer as to what to do in your previous question. This, however, is something you should make sure to implement easily; every time you created a new field, there has always been an option within the fields manager pop up window to make the field user editable or not. So go back, one by one and make sure you’ve selected ‘Can user edit this field?’ to yes.
