Are my subscribers automatically notified when I post?

Hi

I just moved my blog from wordpress.com to my own server, and I’m trying to get everything set up correctly.

I installed the Quick Subscribe plugin (https://pirex.com.br/wordpress-plugins/quick-subscribe/)and already have a few subscribers listed in the users section (including myself with an alternative email to test it).

Are these subscribers automatically notifed when I make a new post? I tried it with a test post, and I haven’t received anything yet, but it could just be delay in the email coming through.

If they’re not automatically notified, is there are plugin I can use to make sure they are?

Also, is there a way to import my subscribers from my old blog, or do I just have to send them an email and rely on them deciding to subscribe again?

Thanks, and sorry for so many questions. I’m finding this confusing and fascinating at the moment, but I’m really glad I decided to move my blog because the flexibility of the softare is amazing.
