• I’ve searched for the answer to this question and the best I could find was this from the wordpress.com website: “A view is only counted for a post or page when the permalink URL is visited.” But if you’re got a multi-page post, does the page number after the permalink (ex: https://mysite.com/heres-my-post/2/) count as part of the permalink? Does WordPress double that post’s views because it’s got a second page?

  • This really depends on your web analytics package but in general, I believe, for a multi-paged post, each “page” of that post counts as an independent “page/view”. So in specifics to your question, I believe ‘/awesome-post/page/1’ and ‘/awesome-post/page/2’ are counted separately – they are two separate pages.
