I’ like to have a public calendar (on the menu) with events, and separate calendar for my volunteers (not on the menu) to use to schedule their time in support of the events. Is this supported, and how?

Love your plug-in. I’ve got at least 3 instances up in support for organizations that love it!

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Create a new category “Volunteer” and use shortcode displaying this category.

Make this page private, and then ask your volunteers to assign this category when submitting events.

However, these events, will show up in main calendar. This is the only workaround, I can think of.

    Take Care

Thanks Jashan. Can you give me an example of the shortcode? Would it be something like this [ai1ec category=volunteer] rather than [ai1ec]?

Actually closer to this [ai1ec cat_name=”volunteer”] I would guess.

    Hello,

You will have to use Category ID.

    [ai1ec cat_id=”10″]

To get your Category ID, Go to Dashboard -> events -> Event CAtegories.

Hover your mouse over the “Volunteer” category, and a blank link will appear at the bottom of the page, containing category ID. Please see my screenshot: https://imgur.com/7lInWM2

    Hope this helps.

And I would think that both calendars could be specific to a category and then there would not be any cross pollination unless the categories were assigned carelessly. Is that a reasonable assumption?
