    Hello, beginner question here ??

I am using meta slider and am happy with the plug in, how it looks and its functions but since I use 4 sliders (as random image servers and not as a slideshow) and have around 40-50 images in the four together I was worried that increating the number of images in the sliders could slow down the frontpage?

Are all images in a slide automatically loaded by visitors or do they have to download only the currently displayed image?

Greets and a happy weekend, RH

  • Hi there,

All images are downloaded on page load – there’s no lazy loading for example.

This means that many slider with many slides will increase the page weight and hence the time it take to load.

Optimizing the images becomes more important at this point.

Ultimately it’s a balance between page content and page speed that you’ll need to establish.

    Thanks,
    Dave
