    Hi,
Thank you for this great AMP plugin.

My questions is, if I am using gtag analytic code on wordpress desktop site do I have to select gtag code for AMP also? Do the type of analytic codes have to be similar for desktop and AMP?

In other words, if I am using gtag for desktop can I use Googleanalytics option for the AMP site? Will that work?

    Thanks very much in Advance!

    Hello @swagatam1975

Thank you for contacting us, Yes you can use gtag on AMP pages, but configuration is slightly different on AMP pages.

You can learn more about gtag on AMP pages using this article

You can add gtag using AMP plugin by following the below steps

    1) Goto Dashboard->AMP->Analytics option
    2) in the Type field add “gtag” it’s very important to add the type “gtag”
    3) replace the <Target id> using gtag id or Universal tag.
    4) Click Save

You can also check the video below for information

    Hope this is helpful!

    Thank you Milind,

My question was not about how to implement.

I know how to select and implement gtag or Googleanalytic codes on AMP.

My question was does the desktop code and the AMP code need to be similar in their types.

Meaning, if suppose I am using Googleanalytics code on desktop site then is it mandatory to use Googleanalytic code on AMP also, or can I use gtag in AMP and Googleanalaitics on desktops and vice versa?

It doesn’t have to be the same, you can use different tracking codes make sure to configure gtag to track users

OK great, thanks for the kind reply.

So the desktop analytic code and the AMP analytic code are unrelated, they don’t have to be similar in nature.

    Got it!

    Many thanks!
