Are “Design Options” setting lost when updating WP

    Hello ,

    I would like to know if changes made in the WP admin menus will be lost or affected during a WP update/upgrade or theme update. I am using a child theme for custom CSS changes, but also like to use the ‘Design Options’ inside of the ‘Visual Composer’ (when editing a specific page) to add CSS. Will the CSS in ‘Design Options’ be lost during an update, and will settings from the theme options menu be lost? I am working on a local install but I believe this relates to both local and online development.

    No, none of that will be lost by updating WordPress.

    If the design changes were made directly to the theme files, they’d be lost when updating the theme. If they’re made in the Customizer, theme settings, or directly to theme files by way of a child theme, they won’t be lost by updating the theme.
