Are backup plugins compatible with Anti-Crawler mode

Hi,
I am currently looking at this plugin and running the trial version. I see that the Anti-Crawler mode will allow google and other popular bots to crawl the site (which is good). I also found documentation that a caching plugin like W3 will work too. I could not find documentation regarding backup plugins. Will backup plugins (such as UpdraftPlus Backups) or services (such as VaultPress) be able to create backups? Or do backup services not really crawl, rather they copy databases so CleanTalk will not block them?
