I’m trying to figure out if the plugin correctly counts access for the page which I have set at the WP Front Page.

Is there a way I can dig into the database, or a report, or …

My site has ~3,000 posts, and only ~10 pages. When I do a stats display for pages (instead of “posts, pages”) for the custom timeframe of 180 days (what I have my stats expiration set to) … the page that is the front of my site shows 3 (exactly 3) views…

    Hi @cconstantine,

Nope, homepage views aren’t counted by WPP mainly for two reasons:

    1. The homepage is for the vast majority of websites out there the page that receives the most views from visitors. This would mean that if someone wanted to create a list of Popular Pages -like you for example- the homepage would very likely always remain at the top of the list which IMO wouldn’t make much sense from the point of view of your average visitor; and
    2. As a direct consequence of the above, if WordPress Popular Posts tracked homepage views the plugin would noticeably increase the number of database write operations. This would potentially lead to performance issues (site slowdowns, database lock-downs on extreme cases), especially for mid/large traffic websites.
