Archives not working because of Splash?

  • Did a quick search, and I found that I can put the archives on a seperate page (which is a must with my current layout.)

    Problem:
    My blog itself it ast main.php, but the index.php is just a splash page. Every time I click on an archive link, it brings me to the splash.

    I’ve tried editing the “WordPress address (URI):” and the “Blog address (URI):” to have main.php at the end, but that leads to problems with my secure SSI and I spend 10 minnutes freaking out because every single admin page is giving me that error. It always fixes itself and reverts back to the index file.

    Any help would be appreciated greatly ??

  • Couple ways around this:

    1. Instead of having your blog as a separate page in the root, move it to a sub-directory (such as main/ or blog/).

    2. Change the default index filename to main.php. You can do this through the *secret* options page (in 1.2.x):

    wp-admin/options.php?option_group_id=6

    Change the ‘blogfilename’ entry.
