Archives by category?

  • I used WP in a client site so that they could manage 2 sections: “news” and “hunting reports”.

    Instead of having all of the prior posts appear in the “archives” section, I want to list recent news posts under one title, and recent hunting report posts under a seperate title.

    Can this be done please? I’m not sure what phrase to use to find previous similar questions or a plugin or such.

  • wordpress already does that. just click on the category name and it will bring you to an archives page listing just the posts in that category.

    Well, here is the site I am referring to. Perhaps I should clarify the request.

    In the sidebar we have this:

    Categories
    2007 News
    October 2007
    2008 News
    January
    Play by Play

    Archives
    April 2008
    January 2008
    October 2007

    What I would like is that the Archives section be split into two sections – one for “play by play” and one for news.

    I’d find that very useful too (archive by date within categories). Anyone know how to do it?
