Archives and Pagination

Greetings! Love the plugin. I am however trying to use this solely as the category archive pages but I noticed using the shortcode in my archive.php leads to an issue with the pagination starting on the second page where it’s pulling up the 404 error. I assume using the plugin to serve as the archive listings isn’t ideal and that I have to use proper hardcode for archive.php for pagination to work?

Does that all make sense? Thanks for your help!
