“Archives” and “Meta” widgets will not go away

  • Hey,

    I was able to successfully remove the widgets I wanted, but once all three were removed, “Search”, “Archive” and “Meta” appeared. They are not listed in any of the Primary / Secondary / etc Widget Areas.

    I’d like for them not to be there (so the table spans the entire page)

    When I moved them from “available widgets” to “inactive widgets”, they still appeared in “Available widgets”.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Could it be caused by the theme defaulting to a set of widgets if there a no widgets added to the sidebar?

    I guess this is possible. No idea how to fix it though…
