    Hello smgdarien

Thank you for contacting Woo Support.

Please note that the Square integration doesn’t sync product visibility status.
This means that products imported will be visible on WooCommerce if it exist, in some form, on Square’s end.

A solution here would be to manually hide the products from WooCommerce’s side.
You can do that in the?Publish?box in the top right of the edit product page.
Check the screenshot below as a reference:

If you need to update several products, you can use the bulk edit tool to select them and then change the?Status?to “Private” in all of them. Here’s a reference screenshot:

I hope this answers your question.
Let me know if have any other questions. ??

    Best regards.

Square has the option to archive products, these products should not be imported at all by this plugin.

Altering 10,000 product statuses from published to private isn’t viable

    Hi @smgdarien,

As I understand, the issue lies importing products FROM Square TO WooCommerce, not the other way around, as you can archive products in Square and you wish those were skipped, correct?

I’m not finding anything about an option to choose what to do with Archived products (you should be at least given an option to import or ignore). I can see the importance of this feature.

We appreciate your suggestions and are always looking for ways to improve our products and services, and input from users like you is invaluable.

We have a website where you can submit feature requests and upvote the ones other people submitted and you like. You can check that out?here.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have further questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

Over 500 people had to report their frustrations with Gift Cards not syncing over eight years before it became the only new feature unrelated to payments introduced to this plugin, based on what I’ve seen in the changelog over the past few years.

Importing 10,000 products from Square when only 1,000 active products are in use (9,000 archived in Square) is a huge bug. Adding 9,000 unused products to the database tables does not follow WooCommerce’s best practices for database optimization.

Even with the best hosting, submitting bulk actions to unpublish 9,000 products isn’t viable. Creating 1,000 products manually is unnecessary double handling.

Prompting users to submit a feature request is a last-ditch effort when band-aid fixes aren’t a viable workaround for the customer. Take a look at the feature requests yourself; the only one implemented over the span of eight years was Gift Cards. By the time that was introduced, I’m sure 99% of the customer base had abandoned this plugin and Woo. I now have to pay Codeable to build a custom plugin purely because the “official” plugin lacks essential features. I use “official” lightly, as Square themselves even acknowledge how poorly developed this integration is and don’t take any accountability for its lack of functionality. I’d go so far as to say that not syncing additional images would mark this plugin as broken.

    Hi @smgdarien,

We understand your frustration with the Square WooCommerce integration. We are aware of the current functionality limitation.

We also genuinely appreciate your patience and acknowledge the inconvenience this has caused. Your feedback is important to us as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We do take note of the feature requests and they are reviewed by our development team. However, implementing these requests depends on various factors such as feasibility, demand, and alignment with our product roadmap.

We understand that waiting for an official update might not be the best solution for you right now, especially with the volume of products you handle. You may consider hiring a developer to create a custom solution as a workaround.

I wish I could help more, but hopefully, this gets you going in the right direction to get the job done.

    Hi there ?? ,

We haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.

    All the best,

Yes I too think that this plugin is rendered useless with it importing archived products. Hopefully you can look at fixing this issue soon.
