• How can i get posts that have been archived off my index page?
I have the page set so that it is archived weekly.
Ihave the posts per page setting set to ‘7’
And I have What_to_show Posts, days, or posts paged set to ‘days’
So far all of the posts that I have made remain on the index page even though all but one appear in last weeks archive.
I would like it if after the posts had gone into an archive they would be deleted from the index page.
    Anyhelp on this?

  • Set
show most recent “7” “days” and it will only show the posts from the last week. This is for 1.2.

    Okay.
    I may need to upgrade to 1.2 i think…
    Thanks!

Setting the Reading Options to display n days worth of posts is not working for me either, and I just installed 1.2

Hmmm, should be and though it is not exact, it works fairly well on my site, give or take a day or two.

archives are all the posts in ur database!
how do u define archived post should not come on homepage?

I think it is just a semantics issue. “Archived posts” are all the posts not shown (in this case, not wanted shown) on the entry page.

Well either it works, or it doesn’t. “Works fairly well” to me constitutes “doesn’t”.
And for myself, this is not a semantics issue. I have imported entries from both Blogger and Greymatter. When I set the Reading Options to display n days worth of posts (eg. 7 days), the index page is littered with posts dating back at least 2 years. Changing the number of days does change which post it goes back to, but it is still not working correctly in my case. Perhaps there was an import issue.

Sorry, forgot to log in. That last post was by me.

It is a semantics issue in the sense to which Sushubh is referring. All posts are archived into the database. You are referring to what others might call “what I want to show”. The “give or take a day or two” is only when I set mine to show less than 7 days and I don’t have a post less than seven days old, WP seems to still return the most recent post.
Let’s get on to your issue and see if we can resolve it. How about a link to your site?

    site link
The current setting is 7 days
