I run a woocommerce website that sells digital downloads. I’d love to archive old orders is here a safe way to do this without affecting users being able to get their digital download at a later date?. My database is rapidly approaching 4GB and I am pretty concerned at this point.

  • Hello @damie ,

Okay, is your customer has unlimited access to their digital files?

If the answer is yes, then you need to keep the database information available. You may want to get in touch with a database expert to move the old orders to a low-maintenance or affordable system than your current one.

I could not find a specific solution in this case. This is a fairly complex development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

I can also recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal for resources on developing for WooCommerce.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

If you need a paid solution, you can consider taking help from one of our partner’s website.

    Thank you ??
