Archive Widget Link

It should take you to the archive page for those posts. The standard archive widget is not an ajax filter.

Try resetting your permalinks (settings->permalinks)

Thanks for the suggestion, but even after resetting the permalinks, its still re-directing me to the homepage.

Problem solved – It happened to be a setting within a plugin called Yoast SEO.

If anyone happens to come across a similar problem, and you’re using the above plugin.

Hover over SEO on the side bar, click Titles & Metas – Click Archives – and then enable the “Date Archive Settings”
