    Hi there,

I love your plugin, works like a charm. Though I do have one issue:
We use a number of custom post types. And via the template system, we use the root url of the cpts as kickoff points for the users in our website (see https://kupf.at/kulturjobs/ ).

So these urls a pretty important for the users, but as far as I can tell they are note listed in the sitemap. They are similar to a “page” for us.
I think thats a pretty widespread use case already, but I think With pagebuilders like elementor gaining the ability to easily edit this templates as well, they will get even more important.
If you now say: “Well, just create a page and list the cpts there”, I’d like to avoid redundencies like then having to urls like /kulturjobs and /kulturjobs-overview/. It’s also more logical for the user that the “parent” of cpt like /kulturjobs/testtest is /kulturjobs/ and not something else.

Anyway: I added this urls now in the custom section and noticed i can only set the priority and the url, and not things like images, frequency and so on (although I read that google might kick frequency, so I don’t know if this really matters).

    Thanks a lot, best wishes!

  • Hi @pampfelimetten, that’s an excellent feature suggestion. It’s now added to the wishlist ??

About the update frequency tag: Google has stated (not officially, but a senior employee confirmed it on twitter) that it ignores the tag completely. It only uses lastmod and maybe priority when there are canonical or very similar pages on the same site. So even that last one is not useful in most cases.

Lastmod will be included whenever this CPT root page feature is implemented but I cannot promise anything soon…
