Archive should show more posts than home.php

Hi Folks,

is there a solution for my problem?

I told wordpress in the options that only 3 posts will be shown on the blogsites.

Can I tell my archive.php to show 5 or 10 posts?

Or can I tell my home.php to show only 3 post and mangage in the options that the blogsites can show 5 or 10 posts?!
