    Hi
    [*]
My aim is to make a book review website for a primary school – I’m testing your plugin on my own website first.
I’d like to show the review CPTs in an isotope grid, with the grid items holding just author, title, star-rating and my own category of which year-groups the book is suitable for.
I’ve created a reviews page but whatever template I set it to, it’s using my archive.php instead.
    Have I missed something?
    Thanks

    Hello,
[Thank you for using my plugin]
Are going for something similiar to this https://recencio.com/grid/ but without the book cover, plus more information?

Also, thanks for reminding me of the isotope library, that is what I had in mind when I created the review grid shortcode but I couldn’t remember the word “isotope”.

    Hi
Yes, with as little text as possible in each grid cell – to be mobile-friendly.

My problem is that my reviews page is only using archive.php. I can set other pages to use my review-grid-page so I know that it’s there.
    Thanks

The thing is, my plugin does really change the layout of WP pages, it only adds information to the existing design. It would be kinda impossible for me to match the style of every WP theme out there. Also, WordPress doesn’t really have an archive page that you can create manually, it is created automatically for taxonomies, think of the archive page as a “virtual” page. It is the reason you don’t see a “Categories” on the backend of your website.

With that said, to change the layout of the archive page for your theme you would have to edit it to match the design you have in mind.

    Hi
So testing the [*] plugin on my own very customised theme is probably not the best idea. I’ve shown the very cool fetch feature to a colleague and am leaving it up to her to decide if we go ahead, in which case I’ll have a brand new site to play with. ?

I considered changing archive.php, seeing that it’s the last template chosen by WP to display pages and I may well do so. I still find it puzzling that your [*] plugin (on my website) won’t use another template.
    Thanks anyway!
