  • You will need to redirect old URL to the new one
Wordpress usually does this but with custom themes etc… it sometimes fails.

Here is what I do. I use SEO ultimate plugin which aside from doing great for seo it also tracks and lets me know any broken links.

I also use “redirection plugin” I take the broken URL and enter it into redirection and give it the new url.

Works great, 301 redirects and keeps google happy too

weirdnews, i just installed 301 redirects as your suggested,.
should I make redirect per one post?? it’s impossible ??

If the only permalink you changed was archives you should only have to do the one. If you changed others you will be like me and be adding new redirects daily until clean. Thats why I use seo ultimate to track those it alerts me instantly when someone clicks a broken link so lets you usually fix the error before search engine returns

Presently with 1 blog I have over 300 301 redirects due to simple permalink changes, slug rewrites etc…
Just always ask yourself if the subtle change will be worth the additional work it may create. If it help you in Serps, it is always worth it ??
