• hi

I’m wondering whether, particularly for SEO purposes, if descriptions that are added to the archive pages (categories/brand/attributes…) are picked up by search engines, even if the particular theme doesn’t display the descriptions on the front end?

i.e I have 2 description boxes for each category. I’ve filled these with content. The theme doesn’t display these descriptions front end on these archive pages. Is it still useful for SEO to have those descriptions (or are they only picked up if displaying on front end)?

    Thanks in advance ??

    That’s a definite NO.

Search engines CANNOT use information that’s not publicly published on your site.
