Archive page

  • i need an archive page, and i want to display there just dates and posttitles. and all permanent links(from main page) to lead to archive.php.
    I did allmost that when tweaked so called LOOP, but it displays only last 6 posts, is there some way to make 16 for example, and to stay with 6 on the main page?

    How to display last 30(or 17) posts titles and dates?
    Like this
    date:post title
    ?
    it seems get_archives can’t do this…
