• Archive “October 2004” only shows 20 posts instead of the actual 21 posts. When I change the setting to show only 10 posts on the index page, only 10 posts show up in the archive. Do I need to wait until the end of the month for the monthly archive to work right? I wouldn’t think so. The archive should show all the posts in the month, and not be limited. Maybe a <–more–> link would be helpful, but that doesn’t show up either.

  • What version of WordPress are you using? You may have WP set to display “posts paged” and not be putting in the “previous/next” page links.

    Thank you. The advice from that post worked. I will add the information to the wiki documentation, so someone like me can find it. But I understand this won’t be an issue with WP 1.3 anyway.

    Wiki documentation has been updated now.
    Now I have a closely related problem: the Edit admin section also needs Previous-Next buttons, but pasting the same code into edit.php gave me an error message when I clicked on Previous:
    <p align=”center”><?php posts_nav_link(‘::’,’ «Next ‘, ‘ Previous» ‘); ?>
    I’m using custom permalinks.
    Clicking on the link gave me a 404 error on the following URL:
    https://homecomers.org/weblog/edit.php?m=200410&submit=Show+Month&paged=2
    Posts per Page settings are “posts paged” (that’s part of the solution to the other problem) but there’s no setting or template tag for “edits paged”, is there? In fact, edit.php seems to be using MySQL commands at that point, instead of WordPress template functions.
